A Flexible Channel Allocation with Resource Prediction for Mobile Multimedia Networks

In this paper, a flexible channel allocation strategy with wiener prediction method is proposed for mobile multimedia networks. In this scheme, a set of available channels is divided into fixed and flexible sets and, using wiener prediction technique channels are allocated for multimedia calls. The wiener prediction method uses only the local information for resource allocation. It allows new calls and handoff calls in the non-Poisson and non-stationary process. This method models the instantaneous demand directly and will reduce the storage and computational complexity load on the networks, hence cost-effective. It will be an effective and efficient method and can be implemented in the real time multimedia mobile networks.
